The U.S. Navy 250th USPS Forever stamp commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States Navy, honoring a quarter of a millennium of maritime service, courage, and commitment to defending the nation. Issued on May 16, 2025, the stamp celebrates the Navy’s founding by the Second Continental Congress on October 13, 1775, during the early stages of the American Revolution.

The stamp features the official United States Navy emblem set against a clean white background. Above the emblem appears the inscription “250 YEARS OF SERVICE,” while “SINCE 1775” is displayed below, recognizing the Navy’s historic milestone. The simple yet dignified design reflects the Navy’s long tradition of honor, courage, and commitment. USPS art director Antonio Alcalá designed the stamp.

The U.S. Navy 250th stamp is one of three commemorative Armed Forces stamps issued simultaneously by the U.S. Postal Service to celebrate the 250th anniversaries of the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. Together, the three stamps recognize the shared Revolutionary War origins of these military branches and pay tribute to the generations of service members who have protected the United States at home and around the world.

The stamp was officially dedicated during a First-Day-of-Issue Ceremony at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C. USPS officials were joined by senior military leaders and veterans to commemorate the anniversary and recognize the Navy’s enduring role in safeguarding the nation’s interests across the world’s oceans.

Issued as a Forever stamp, the U.S. Navy 250th stamp is always valid for mailing a one-ounce First-Class Mail letter within the United States, regardless of future postage rate increases. It is sold in panes of 20 stamps, making it both a practical postage option and a meaningful collectible for sailors, veterans, military families, naval history enthusiasts, and stamp collectors.
