The U.S. Army 250th USPS Forever stamp commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States Army, honoring two and a half centuries of military service, leadership, and sacrifice. Issued on May 16, 2025, the stamp recognizes the Army’s enduring role in protecting the nation since its establishment by the Second Continental Congress on June 14, 1775, during the early days of the American Revolution.
The stamp features the United States Army service mark prominently displayed against a clean white background. Above the emblem appears the inscription “250 YEARS OF SERVICE,” while “SINCE 1775” is shown below, highlighting the Army’s historic milestone. The simple yet dignified design emphasizes the Army’s tradition of honor, duty, and commitment to defending the United States. USPS art director Antonio Alcalá designed the stamp.
The U.S. Army 250th stamp is one of three Armed Forces commemorative stamps released simultaneously by the U.S. Postal Service to celebrate the 250th anniversaries of the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. Together, these stamps recognize the shared origins of the three military branches during the Revolutionary War and pay tribute to the generations of service members who have safeguarded the nation’s freedom and security.
The stamp was officially dedicated during a First-Day-of-Issue Ceremony at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C. USPS officials were joined by senior leaders from the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps to commemorate the milestone and honor the dedication of America’s service members, past and present.
Issued as a Forever stamp, the U.S. Army 250th stamp is always valid for mailing a one-ounce First-Class Mail letter within the United States, regardless of future postage rate increases. It is sold in panes of 20 stamps, making it both a practical mailing option and a meaningful collectible for military families, veterans, history enthusiasts, and stamp collectors.
