Garden Delights

The Garden Delights Forever stamps, issued by the U.S. Postal Service on March 16, 2024, celebrate the beauty of America’s gardens and the essential role that hummingbirds play as pollinators. Released in Strongsville, Ohio, the stamp collection features four vibrant designs showcasing female ruby-throated hummingbirds hovering beside colorful garden flowers.

Each stamp pairs a hummingbird with a different bloom: a zinnia, cigar flower, spotted touch-me-not, or sunflower. The realistic images were created using photographs by wildlife photographer Ben King, while Greg Breeding served as both the designer and art director.

Issued as Forever stamps, Garden Delights stamps can be used to mail a one-ounce First-Class letter regardless of future postage rate increases. The stamps are sold in booklets of 20, with five of each design.

Beyond their practical use, the Garden Delights stamps highlight the importance of pollinators in maintaining healthy ecosystems. Ruby-throated hummingbirds, the only hummingbird species commonly found throughout the eastern United States, help pollinate thousands of flowering plants while bringing color and movement to gardens during the spring and summer months.
